On February 16, Tencent—China’s largest publicly traded tech company—rolled out a WeChat-integrated version of Deepseek, essentially embedding CoT capabilities inside the WeChat ecosystem.

  WeChat Deepseek offers the complete feature set of DeepSeek R1.

• WeChat Public Accounts Integration
  Unlike Bytedance’s DouBao or Deepseek’s own standalone products, WeChat Deepseek can search WeChat public accounts.

  • Think of WeChat public accounts as the combined equivalent of all U.S. blogs, Substack, and Medium content.

  • This is a major advantage over the META AI assistant, as WeChat’s high-quality content library far exceeds META’s.

• No Access to Private Chats
  Currently, WeChat Deepseek cannot search personal chat records.

Because of WeChat’s massive user base, WeChat Deepseek is expected to quickly reach over 100 million DAU, making it the world’s largest AI product by user count.
